Insights from the Kingdom of God.
I am Eugene Leong — a Malaysian writer, photographer, and cabinetmaker who publishes under the name FAME CHeRRy. This site exists to share what I am learning about the Kingdom of God, and the work that flows from that calling.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Key takeaway
FAME CHeRRy is a Malaysian English-language publication by Eugene Leong — covering Christian faith, interior design for Malaysian homes, and analogue film photography. Everything here is written from a Kingdom-of-God perspective: beauty, faith, and craftsmanship belong in the same conversation.
Who I am
I started this site because too many things rattling around in my head did not fit neatly into a single category. Faith kept bumping into design. Design kept bumping into light. And light — that is photography’s whole domain. So here we are: a journal that refuses to pick just one lane, but always returns to one centre — the Kingdom of God drawing near.
I write primarily in English because that is the language in which I think and pray — but the context is deeply Malaysian. The cost of a renovation here, the way afternoon light falls through louvred windows, the particular weight of faith in a pluralist society. That is the texture underneath every piece I write.
What this place offers
Faith & Journey
Christian faith writing is my first and most personal pillar. I am not a theologian — I am a person who has wrestled with the Christian faith for over a decade and keeps coming back, not because the answers are easy, but because I find them honest. I write about spiritual warfare, the problem of evil, what it means to follow Christ in a postmodern world, and the daily practice of trusting a God who does not always explain himself.
Design & Living
Interior design in Malaysia occupies a strange space — caught between global trends and local realities. I write about it from the perspective of someone who has lived through renovations, made expensive mistakes, and found a few things that actually work. My Fadior cabinet reviews include real measurements, real costs, and real opinions — never sponsored content dressed up as editorial.
Analogue
I shoot film because the constraint of 36 exposures on a roll forces a quality of attention I find valuable. I write camera reviews, film stock reviews, and occasional essays about what analogue photography teaches you about patience and presence. The cameras I review are real cameras I have used.
